An 1890 Hunters Hill sandstone house was sold by Tracey Dixon and Nicholas Cowdrill from McGrath Hunters Hill last month.

Reinvented by architect Kerry Fyfe from Allen Jack and Cottier, the contemporary home features water views. 

Located at 27 Glenview Crescent, it comes with four bedrooms, formal and informal living areas, expansive timber balconies and gourmet island kitchen. 

Other features include swimming pool, four marble fireplaces, rosewood parquetry flooring and double garage. 

It's only a stroll to Hunters Hill Village, shops, cafes and CBD transport.

The property had last sold at $770,000 in 1991.

Its contents have been listed under instructions from the vendors due to the recent sale.

Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions have been appointed to sell the Victorian mahogany Dining table and sideboard, modular lounge suite, Aboriginal paintings by Gabriella Possum and Jeannie Pitjarra, Art of Stone chairs, fine Inlaid silk Keshan carpet, various Persian tribal rugs, Gillie and Marc and Mark Hanham paintings, and a large outdoor Children’s bronze.


Award winning modernist Eaglemont trophy home listed

An Eaglemont four bedroom house that won the prestigious Victorian Architecture Medal for the RAIA's Best House Of The Year in 1965, has been listed for sale with a price guide of $1.855m. 

It was listed by Paul Carbone and Brad Pearce from Miles Real Estate. 

Set on a cul-de-sac end, the 1034 sqm property is within the Glenard Estate.

The 47 Ormond Road home features four fitted bedrooms, living room with full-height windows and doors, dining room with cantilevered table and sun-filled family room. 

There is potential for second-level views over the Yarra Valley to the ranges. 

Another Eaglemont three bedroom house at 78 Studley Road was sold for $1.29 million earlier this month. 

Church Point Mid-century modern house sold by Wiseberry

The Mid-century modern house at Church Point, the Northern Beaches region of Sydney, has been sold by Iolanda Trovatello and Simon Rawson from Wiseberry.

Perched amongst the trees, the 105 McCarrs Creek Road home was designed in the 1960's by renowned Australian architect Stan Symonds.

The four bedroom home offers an abundance of natural light with bespoke floor to ceiling glass windows, and encompasses its surroundings with a rock feature in the upstairs living area.

The Bulwark, Castlecrag's Bill Lucas Mid-century modern home listed

The Bulwark is one of Castlecrag's premier addresses and is where some of the finest examples of architecture from the late Bill Lucas are located.Bill Lucas are located.

Lucas built his family home with architect wife Ruth Harvey on the bushland street in 1957.

Dubbed The Glass House, constructed out of steel and glass, the four bedroom home was the first Lucas built on The Bulwark.

It last traded for $560,000 in 1998.

A decade later he would put his name to the two neighbouring homes.

Two years ago one of the homes sold for $2,055,000, and now the home next door is up for sale.

The four bedroom family home retains its Mid-century modernism, with split levels, white painted ceilings, open treat stairs, slate floors and a fish tank.

It spans three storeys with six different levels and integrates sandstone boulders that form part of the walls in the lower levels.

Entry to the home below street level is through a semi-tropical landscaped garden, with a curved path leading to a bridge across to the front door. The 740 sqm parcel of native bush leads down to Sailors Bay.

Elizabeth Island given $6.95 million asking price

Elizabeth Island, the island off Western Port Bay in Victoria, has been given an official $6.95 million asking price.

The 26 hectare private island has been on and off the market since 2014, with prices ranging from $5 million to $10 million.

Its listing last year through RT Edgar suggested a sale would occur with a $4 million bid. Former IT and management consultant and psychologist Anne Tillig has owned the island since 1996.

Century21 Home Port agent Phil Bock is now marketing the property as having the potential to "offer the lot to one million tourists already passing by".

Near French Island off the coast of the Mornington Peninsula, the private owned island has little more than a three bedroom fully off-grid home and a jetty.

It is now zoned for tourism, which means up to 20 villas can be built, subject to planning approval.

The Cottage, a Dulwich hill two bedroom townhouse which forms part of the Waratah Mills development, has been sold at $1,045,000.

It was leased for $650 per week in 2014 and last traded for $675,000 in 2009.

The Sydney Inner West freestanding house was sold by Rhonda Yim and Benjamin Martin from Belle Property.

Located at 1/10-14 Terry Road, Dulwich Hill, the refurbished house with original character features throughout bright, extra-spacious interiors and parking next to the home.

Historic 1904 Drummoyne red brick riverfront trophy home listed with $8 million hopes

The little known Harris family have listed the imposing Drummoyne riverfront, Clovelly, a substantial, two storey Federation house with $8 million hopes.

Built of red brick with pebble dash featuring in its chimneys, it was built about 1904 for Stanley Rea, a dentist. 

There have only been two families in ownership since the historic treasure was built with its 22 metre frontage to Drummoyne Bay. 

It goes to June 30 private auction through local agents Warwick Williams and Adrian Sereni.

The sandstone boatshed, originally built as the bathing house for the now demolished Drummoyne House, is an enclosed luxurious swimming pool.

Clovelly has panels of leaded art-nouveau glass windows.

It is one of the few surviving waterfront properties that retains house, setting and garden and waterfront features.

It last sold at $1,525,000 in 1995.

A piece of Bendigo history on the market

For the first time in more than 30 years, one of Bendigo’s premier historic homes is on the market.

Newington, on Barnard Street in Bendigo, has been listed by Barry Plant Bendigo.

The property was built in the late 1860s by stonemason, James Brierly, who is best known for building Bendigo’s oldest building, Specimen Cottage.

Alterations carried out in the late 1890s are believed to be the work of local architect, William Beebe, including the beautiful cast-iron trimmed front façade.

The building now has a number of modern conveniences including automated smart home technology, programmable hydronic floor and skirting board heating and top of the range appliances.

“Newington is testament to the stunning architecture of old Bendigo," Bill Williams, at Barry Plant Bendigo said.

Situated on 600 square metres with rear access from Rosalind Street, the property will be sold via tender concluding June 12.

New luxury Blue Mountains build Kamimura at Leura listed

Kamimura, a luxury new build at Leura in the Blue Mountains, has hit the market.

It's been listed by online art dealer Serafin Martinez and his partner, lawyer and UNSW Sydney legal counsel Thai Loi.

The new weekender has two connected pavilions with a suspended bridge on its 1.5 hectare Winston Street parcel.

Every room offers bush views, including its three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It's not the first Blue Mountains the couple have developed having sold an updated three bedroom Katoomba home at $680,000 last year.

Brisbane's weekend clearance rate sat at 50 percent.

Its top weekend sale was a five bedroom Teneriffe offering, Riverview that fetched $4,405,000.

There were seven registered bidders at the Sunday afternoon auction through McGrath agent Henry Hodge.

It last sold in 2007 at $3.4 million.

The Teneriffe Drive home was on a 700 sq m holding.

It was Teneriffe’s highest sale for a non-riverfront property in the past 12 years, Hodge said.

Nearby 61 Teneriffe Drive sold at $4.6 million in 2006.

Middle Park trophy home fetches $5.44 million

Melbourne's highest weekend sale was $5.44 million in Middle Park through Cayzer Real Estate.

It was an original Edwardian residence, with Little Page Street along its side, offered for the first time in over 60 years. 

It was sold by Michael Szulc and Geoff Cayzer from Gayzer Real Estate.

The 80 Nimmo St house comes with four bedrooms, combined living/dining, kitchen incorporating meals, bathroom and sunroom.

Its location with Little Page Street along its side allowing abundant natural light and easy access.

Its price guidance was based on other comparable sales.

A recent sale nearby is a Canterbury Road six bedroom house.

It was sold at $5.575 million on February 24.

The 33 Canterbury Rd house comes with five bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, light-filled living and dining area and private garden.

Another 136 Page St five-bedroom house in Middle Park was traded at $6.4 million last year. 

The suburb's median house price sits on $2.2 million, according to CoreLogic.

Parkmore, a historic 1891 Victorian mansion in Rosebud, a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, has been scheduled for auction on July 21. 

It is listed by Quentin McEwing and Marcus Gollings from McEwing & Partners Real Estate.

They expected between $2.7 million and $3 million.

It last sold at $2,825,000 in 2016 when bought by the property developer Robert Kampf.

Directly opposite a long sandy stretch of beach, the 741-743 Point Nepean Road house comes with three living/dining rooms, a modern kitchen, wine cellar/cantina, six bedrooms, and an array of verandas and patios.

Record $11 million plus Clontarf beachfront sale

Astra serviced apartment boss Peter Davis and his wife Rachel have secured a record Clontarf house sale.

Their beachfront home has sold for more than $11 million.

The Walter Barda-designed, Monash Crescent sold just a week after it was listed with a $10.5 million to $11.5 million guide through Cherie Humel and Michael Clarke, of Clarke & Humel.

The agents confirmed the price was at the top end of the guide. 

The Clontarf beachfront has had a run of top-end sales in recent months including Rock Lee for more than $10 million by Hedge fund manager Robert Benz, of Whitecove Capital, and Malin Larsson.

The Davis's Walter Barda-designed residence was built after the couple bought the 639 square metre property in 2010 for $4,225,000. 

The Davis family sale tops the prior high of $11 million set in 2016 when Madina Phara –  wife of Mongkol Phara, of one of Cambodia’s ruling families – bought the nearby modernist landmark Portovenere from the estate of the late arts patron and Transfield co-founder Franco Belgiorno-Nettis and his wife Amina.

The mortgage broker John Kolenda recently paid $8.5 million with his wife Milenka for a house they saw while sailing past on a yacht.

Clayfield's White Gables sold to local medical professionals

White Gables, a four bedroom house in Clayfield, an inner northern suburb in the City of Brisbane, sold at weekend auction.

The $4 million buyers were local medical professionals with two young boys, who Domain reported had been hunting for their perfect home for three to four years. 

It was offered by Matt Lancashire and Christine Rudolph from Ray White who had three registered bidders.

Bidding opened at $3 million going up in $250,000 increments. It was announced on the market at $4 million. 

The 9 Craven Street home combines traditional elegance with architectural style.

White Gables, a much-admired Brisbane residence, has been held by only three separate families since its creation in the early 1900s. 

The house was commissioned by wealthy timber merchant George Brown who chose to construct the statement wedding gift for his daughter out of red brick with an extensive use of the finest timbers throughout the interior. 

The current vendors Kate and John Naughton purchased its 15 years ago from a prominent local resident who had lived on the property until he was 102. 

It comes with six spacious bedrooms, gourmet stone kitchen, living and entertaining on in one level, and six car garage.

Marrickville home snapped up pre-auction after 50 years ownership

One of Marrickville’s finest free-standing brick federation residences was snapped up before its scheduled long weekend auction. 

No sale price was provided for the home at 292 Livingstone Road that was held by the same family for over 50 years.

The three bedroom brick residence has high ornate ceilings and stained glass windows.

The home sits on a 504 sqm with established rose gardens.

It was offered through Peter Hall at State Realty.

Livingstone Road's highest sale was $2.19 million in 2017 at 181 for Mungret, the 1881 Victorian home.
