Grande Vista, a luxury Gold Coast Broadbeach Waters estate, on the Sovereign Islands has gone under contract, at a record price.

A local buyer has set an island record surpassing the sale of Baltimore, a mega mansion that changed hands for $11 million in 2006.

It was marketed as one of Australia's premier waterfront mansions by Prestige Property agent Amir Main, who had initial $14.88 million price guidance.

Gold Coast businessman Brian Peat bought the home from the Gold Coast developer John Fish for $7 million in 2010.

The massive seven bedroom, 12 bathroom home spans over 1890 square metres, taking up much of its 2,103 square metre parcel on Sir Lancelot Way.

Entry to the home is through a palatial foyer with elegant marble and wrought iron curved staircase and spectacular views through to the blue vista.

The basement level is accessed by a lift and features a steam room, gym and eight car garage. A cinema room with tiered seating and wet bar sits on the ground floor.

There's a private outdoor teppanyaki kitchen with bbq and a 25 metre lap pool that faces the water.

There's whispers of a $6 million sale off the plan at Mt Buller's Kooroora redevelopment, which snares the Australian snow record away from Thredbo.

The Thredbo record dates back pre-global financial crisis to 2005 when entrepreneur Andrew Roberts paid $3.5 million for the five bedroom chalet, Tussock which was bought from the Melbourne architect Andrew Norbury and his wife Jane Parker, one of the founders of fashion label Country Road.

Norbury had designed the home on Crackenback Ridge, one of Thredbo's highest building blocks.

Set in the heart of the village square, Kooroora is a collection of 21 residences. Five are left in the four storey $35 million Grollo Group project through John Castran.

The site is rich in history having been established in 1953 by brothers Ernest and Aurel Forras in 1953. Their mother and sister came out from Hungry to assist; cooking and serving in the chalet’s dinning room. It burnt down in 1961 and was rebuilt and re-opened for the 1962 winter.

Kooroora provided the first post war high-end commercial accommodation on the mountain.

Property mogul Rino Grollo sold his 300 sqm Howqua suite penthouse in the Mount Buller Chalet in 2015 to the Autobarn founder, Garry Dumbrell for $1.7 million.

One of Queenscliff's finest trophy homes has been snappily sold for $12 million. The northern beaches offering came with record breaking hopes through Jake Rowe Partners agents Jake Rowe and Nathan Tse.

They had an $11 million to $12 million price guide for its now unnecessary September 1 auction.

Renovated since last traded for $3.8 million in 2008, the tri-level home on its 805 sqm Pavilion Street block has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two home offices.

The lounge with gas log fireplaces, and the glass framed dining and living rooms flow to seaside terraces featuring a fire-pit and heated plunge pool.

The listing comes off the back big sales in the Queenscliff prestige market.

Earlier this year another Pavilion Street home, a one bedder on the clifftop, sold for $5.55 million, marketed as the last underdeveloped block on the headland.

The $12 million was secured just four days into its marketing by the dentist David Eyles and his wife Patricia.

It was bought by a buyer from the upper north shore.

There had been 21 groups at its only open inspection last Saturday.

Late last year the Queenscliff residential price record was set when fund manager Andrew Formica spent $10 million on a Crown Road home with direct access to Freshwater Beach.

He snapped the four bedroom property up in just 15 days, in doing so toppling the previous $5 million record set in 2016.

An Airlie Beach home in the historic Chesapeake Estate has hit the market with $3 million hopes.

The property dates back to the 1980s when eccentric Kiwi millionaire Ron McDonald had a vision to create a 76 hectare compound community with a target market apparently of deposed African dictators.

Their welfare was to be ensured by a team of ex-SAS guards.

McDonald made his money selling air-conditioning units in Saudi Arabia.

His brochures for the community dubbed, Parc Exclusif promised parklands, houses, apartments and a private hospital.

After buying a steep rain-forested hillside just east of town, McDonald began building the infrastructure for the thwarted proposed estate.

The three bedroom Mandalay Road home is listed for $3 million by Robyn Tyson at Professionals Whitsundays agency.

It is being sold by author and investor Bruce Bickerstaff, who bought the home from Hogs Breath Cafe chain founder Don Algie in 2000.

After just seven days on the market, 25 Monomeath Avenue, Canterbury found a buyer mid-week.

The Chinese vendor secured $8,188,000, having done very little to the house that cost $4,812,790 in 2013.

The 1868 sqm battle-axe block with an early 1990s one storey brick home sold to a buyer from Macau through Louis Lin at AVE Real Estate.

Now replaced by European chateaus, few of its Edwardian era homes remain along the avenue lined with beautiful oaks planted from the day when the road was made in 1911.

While the sold property does not come with noteworthy former political links, such has Hamer and Peacock, it was the home of John Mott, whose family founded the Melbourne newspaper chain Leader Associated. Mott bought bought the home shortly after the 1986 sale of his stake in the Herald & Weekly Times.

There was also a $12.08 million sale when Yi Qian purchased a three level Phillip Mannerheim designed trophy home, with lift-access from its eight car basement. The six bedroom, six bathroom home came with interiors designed by the late Stuart Rattle, within Paul Bangay gardens.

There was a $8,000,888 sale in 2010, though it was not to a Chinese buyer.

Joe Dolce, the writer and performer of Australia's biggest selling single, has reduced his price hopes for his weekender in Victoria.

It is the former Natte Yallock Uniting church.

The property, 200 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, has been under the ownership of the Shaddap You Face singer and his artist wife Lin van Hek for the last 23 years costing $32,000.

They were initially seeking $385,000 late last year, and now they're happy to take $345,000 through Elders Avoca agents Elizabeth and Heathcliffe Teal.

The property was built from handmade bricks in 1904 by the Natte Yallock community. The galvanised iron roof still covers the property.

The interior is still a canvas for any style, the marketing suggests.

Dolce shot to fame with his 1981 hit Shaddap You Face, which remains Australia's biggest-selling single, even outselling Up There Cazaly and Slim Dusty's Pub With No Beer.
